One Hour in Dun Laoghaire: The Peoples Park

When you arrive in a town, its great to have a recommendation of where to grab a good coffee, or somewhere for they children to run around.  So if you have one hour in Dun Laoghaire, I suggest you head to The People Park.

For the flowers alone its worth a visit. Together with a childrens’ park, restaurant, coffee dock and public restroom facilities, it’s a little gem in a busy town.

The house in the park underwent extensive refurbishment, but if you ask me, it still looks a little crooked! 😉 But beautiful at the same time!

The original tea rooms were also refurbished and are now split into a take away coffee dock and restaurant, both run by Fallon and Byrne.  I have yet to eat in the restaurant, and would love to hear from anyone who has.  I can confirm the coffee dock makes a mean black tea and americano! They also sell take away salads, sandwiches and cakes.

This summer the return of the Ukelele Hooley is much anticipated and the park is host to the main stage. Highly recommended!
