Having a wish list is a trick I learned form my sister-in-law; a list of all the things that inspire me, goals I want to achieve, and things I dream about. Or lets be honest, things I want to run out and buy! Making lists are my number one go to for keeping on top of life. So here is this weeks ‘Wednesday Wish List’, a little bit of inspiration straight to your in box!
This weeks list is about staying on top of things! A few things I needed help with lately are procrastination, patience and lack of sleep. So I turned to TED Talks for my inspiration. These talks are by no means newly published, but they are the best.
Procrastination: If you are a procrastinator, you will understand this talk. It will be like Tim Urban filmed your life and is now telling 500 people in a theatre exactly how you live. Yes, its that close to the bone! But the thing is, I am fatigued by
managing deadlines that I bring to the wire every time. Since watching this talk I have made a conscious effort to get tasks done right away and get on with things, it’s not easy, but feels great!
Patience: While trying to put finishing touches on a halloween costume, I could not get my daughter to stand still for a minute! When I was about to abandon ship due to a dwindling patience, she asked “do you think I will become a dancer, because I cannot stand still?” Instant heart melt…. ❤ So this talk by Ken Robinson came to mind and if you have not watched it, do so now!
Lack of Sleep: AKA the Devil. Since our trip I have been going to bed late and it’s taking its toll. Probably the reason for the dwindling patience and procrastination. So I returned to an old favourite, just a little reminder of what is important.
If you have any favourite TED talks, please mention them in the comments, I’d love to hear about them.
I hope you have a great week!
